Merry Christmas!!

Hi All,

Patria and would like to take a moment to wish each and all of you a Merry Christmas!

We're just a week and a half away from the Big Event, and I see that Patria and I have been lazy to make additions to this site (and advertize it!), so that we are so close, we will try to do a better job of blogging.

Final preparations are still underway for the wedding. Today Patria and her mother Vilma are out running errands while I am settling our honeymoon details and doing things for my job at UNT by long distance. Yesterday Patria and I ran around to get me fitted for my tuxedo and find flower vases, then we spent a couple of hours with Patria's Aunt Alma experimenting with flower arrangements. We still have to taste wedding cake samples, choose a music performer for the reception, and some other tasks. I am shielded from most of this busyness, but try to do what I can (it's good to be the groom).

Yesterday I discovered the powers of Veto. Patria exercised the Bridal Veto of my tuxedo choices. I did not know that this power was constitutional until she exercised it. . . so later I assumed the power of the Groom Veto and nixed any discussion of fake flowers for the reception. These newfound powers are amazing! Does this mean I will have Husband Veto power after we are married? Father Veto over my children? Should I be on the lookout for the Wife Veto of my future plans? . . . Only destiny will tell . . .

Welcome to our Wedding/Honeymoon Blog

Hi family and friends,

Welcome to our blogging space where you may share with us our experience of getting married and read about all the joys (and some woes) about arranging a wedding from a distance (thank God for moms!).

Since we still have not sent out our wedding invitations (these will be coming soon!), we decided to start a space where we can post information/details about the wedding per say (i.e., the wedding date and time, the ceremony and reception dress attire, the registry, etc.). We also thought it would be a neat space where we could share pre-wedding, wedding, and post-wedding pictures with you, and share pics and stories about the honeymoon (yay!).

The most important news up to now is that the wedding is on Friday, January 2nd at 5pm. It will be held at the Chapel in the Robinson School. The ceremony will follow shortly thereafter at Antonio's Restaurant (walking distance).

Here is a map of the locations in Condado for the wedding. You will have to zoom out to see the four linked locations, and click on the placemarks to see which is which: Comfort Inn, Antonio's Resaurant, Robinson School, and Parking for the Robinson School. All of these locations are within walking distance of one another.

We have an official countdown timer for the wedding so that everyone remembers the date!

Once we get hitched, we will continue blogging from our honeymoon location: Lisbon, Portugal. :)

Lastly, for those of you who might be interested, we have created a honeymoon registry online (details coming soon)! We are still tweaking a couple of things on our registry page (it is still in beta phase), but once we have the final product, we will be posting it on this space and sending it via e-mail.
